Thank you for Coming to the Spaghetti Dinner!
Dear friends of KumboKids and Community,
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Dave and Ann Norckauer for hosting the annual free Spaghetti Dinner, which raises funds for KumboKids and the Community. This year, seventy people attended the Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, March 29, 2025. While reflecting on the significance of the number 70, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your love, your dedication, generosity, and missionary spirit. You have exhibited these qualities through your coming together to support the mission of KumboKids and Community: “to ensure access to education for kids in the Diocese of Kumbo by helping them with tuition and fees for school, to build a Church in Nkanchi Village to provide a decent place for worship, and to provide funding for projects deemed most necessary by the members of the village community.” This mission is being realized through your constant generosity. Thank you!
Seventy people came out for this year’s annual Spaghetti Dinner!
The number 70 has a great and sacred significance in the Bible. It represents completion, divine order, and significant milestones in the spiritual journey. Moses appointed 70 elders (Numbers 11:16), and together with Aaron and his sons, they ascended to Mount Sinai to partake in a special meal with God (Ex. 24:9-11). In the New Testament, Jesus appointed seventy disciples to send them out to train for missionary work (Lk. 10). It is said that in the Gospels, Jesus narrated 70 parables during his public ministry. Your appearance at the Spaghetti dinner is a significant indication of your spiritual growth, of your Christification (growing together in Christ), your love for God and your neighbor, and your zeal for missionary work. You help people from a distant country that you may never visit, who are unknown to you. However, I assure you, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that through your actions, you have visited and continue to visit Cameroon and the people of the Diocese of Kumbo. As such, you are storing up treasures for yourselves in heaven (Matt. 6:19-21). The beneficiaries of your generosity, and I pray that God may grant the good desires of your hearts.
